Last year’s Glastonwick, the first at Church Farm, was sold out Friday and Saturday and by popular acclaim the best ever - so we’re back!

Festival bean man iconOnce more we can offer a free shuttle bus, overnight camping on the Friday & Saturday nights, ample car parking space and tractor rides/some entertainment for the kids, as well as the customary plethora of fine independently brewed beer and music.

About 65 cask-conditioned ales, all from small independent breweries, mostly unusual but with a few ‘old favourites’. About 10 farmhouse ciders and perries.

Quality food (including veggie options).

Compered as ever by Attila the Stockbroker.

You can listen to this year’s bands at www.myspace.com/glastonwick

Glastonwick 2008 :
Friday Evening (6pm - Midnight)

  • Strawberry Blondes - Incendiary young South Wales punks, currently making huge waves with their debut album ‘Rise up’. Great lyrics, great tunes.
  • TV Smith - former Adverts/Explorers legend, now a wonderful solo singer/songwriter
  • Swill & The Swaggerband - Men They Couldn’t Hang frontman with his showcase band, which contains TMTCH members past and present.
  • Al Baker & Alan Parry - two fine political songwriters from the North West.

Glastonwick 2008 :
Saturday (Noon - Midnight)

  • Blyth Power - very rare gig from visionary balladeering trainspotter Joseph and his cohorts
  • PPZ30 (Belgium) - Brussels-based funk-punk-jazz combo, hugely original - think Chilli Peppers meets Funkadelic!
  • The Meow Meows - Dance to your local Ska orchestra.
  • Luke Wright - fast rising star of the performance poetry scene, formerly of Aisle 16 who stormed Glastonwick 2 years ago.
  • Contingent (Belgium & Southwick) - Fiery Stoogesque punks from Brussels, Attila played bass with them in 1979, reformed after 28 years!
  • Eastfield - named after a railway depot in Glasgow. Still don’t like Port Talbot Transport Police.
  • Crispin Thomas - one of the pioneers of football poetry. Who ate all the pioneers?
  • Wob - bouncing melodic happy ball of energy.
  • Robb Johnson - brilliant political songwriter and Brentford fan.
  • Babar Luck - Frankenstanee-Anglo-Pakistani rapper/folkie/punk, former frontman of King Prawn.
  • Pog - sometimes acerbic jazz-folk-pop with a bit of a Beard.

Glastonwick 2008 :
Sunday Afternoon (Noon - 6pm)

  • John Otway - (with interruptions from Attila) the madman returns…
  • Fish Brothers - Legends. Do the one about the bear!
  • Jason Pegg - Clearlake frontman/composer (and sometime fish Brother).
  • Rory Ellis (Australia) - the return of the gravel voiced Aussie ex-boxer with the heart of gold.
  • Tracey Curtis - fine singer/songwriter from Wales.
  • Livingston Freeman - inventive local punk-prog-mod (well that’s my description)!
